About Us

Digital Apex is a small family run business that has been operating in Phoenix and the surrounding area since 2011. Mark Nelson founded the company with the desire to help enable people who are blind and low vision be able to access all technology and help them to build skills to enable them to live a full, independent, and successful life. Mark himself is blind, having experienced progressive vision loss from the time he was young until losing all sight later in life. Refusing to let this hold him back he began a career in the assistive technology field and has been at the forefront of technology development, always testing and trying out new technologies.

Mark is a Certified Assistive Technology Instructional Specialist (CATIS). This has given him the experience necessary to ensure only the best products are recommended as well as a decades long background in the use and instruction of this technology. He understands the challenges of learning to use low vision and blindness technology to succeed in employment and education, access information, keep in touch with family and friends and live life to the fullest.  Mark brings his personal life experience, professional experience and expertise to address the needs of all our customers and those we serve.
